Within the first two weeks of beginning the work term, the student will meet with the person to whom they are reporting to review their duties and responsbilities and / or project goals. Based on that discussion, or during that discussion, the student will need to determine three things they will have to learn or demonstrate to meet the employer's expectations. Both of the above will be recorded in Section 1 of the Work Term II Report which can be found on the UM Learn website.
Month Two / Three
Immediately following the Co-op Coordinator's site visit, the student will return to the Work Term II Report to record the employer's current evaluation of the work term. This will include any compentencies that the employer or Co-op Coordinator identified on which the student needs to continue to concentrate.
The student is required to complete the Work Term Report Questionaire portion of the web form. The deadline for final completion of this web form will be announced each term.
It is also the responsibility of each student to ensure that an Employer Final Evaluation of Co-op Student Web Form is completed during the last week of the Co-op placement. Where possible, the person who completes the form (usually the student's mentor or supervisor) should review this submission with the student. The deadline date for the submission of this web form will be announced each term.
Please note: the Co-op Office requires all forms prior to submitting a grade (P/F) for the work term.
